Virtual Phone Numbers by Country
Virtual phone numbers by country put the verification code on a local mobile line in the market you are signing up in. Every international virtual number on Anosim comes from one of 54 countries and regions, listed below by region. Each country page shows the services, carriers and products for that country, so you can compare before you order.
Find a country by region
Start with the region, then open the country. Each heading says briefly who tends to order numbers there; the countries follow underneath.
Western Europe
8Germany, France, the UK and their neighbours are home markets for many European platforms, from banks to delivery apps. Typical starting points are German virtual numbers and UK phone numbers.
Northern Europe and the Baltics
6Nordic and Baltic numbers suit services built for those markets and their languages. Examples are Swedish numbers and Lithuanian numbers.
Southern Europe
8Spain, Italy, Portugal and Greece cover Mediterranean marketplaces, travel and food apps. Good entry points are Spanish virtual numbers and Italian numbers.
Central and Eastern Europe
8From Poland to Ukraine, these numbers match services with a large user base in Central and Eastern Europe. See Polish numbers or Ukrainian numbers.
Caucasus and Central Asia
5Numbers from Georgia, Kazakhstan and their neighbours fit regional apps and Russian-language services. One example is Kazakhstan.
The Americas
7US and Canadian numbers serve North American platforms; Brazil, Colombia and Argentina serve Latin American ones. Compare US virtual numbers and Brazilian numbers.
Africa and the Middle East
6From South Africa and Kenya to Morocco and Israel, these numbers fit services that verify users in their home market. Example: South African numbers.
Asia and Oceania
6Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Australia cover platforms in Southeast Asia and the Pacific. See Philippine numbers or Australian numbers.
How to choose the right country for a platform
Three questions settle it, and you can answer them before you open any order form.
Who is the service built for?
A platform that serves one national market expects users from that market. A number from that country is then the natural choice, for example for a local delivery or banking app. Signing up to a Spanish delivery service? Take a Spanish number.
Which language do you want?
The language and region of a new account often follow the country code of the phone number. A number from a country whose language you read keeps menus, messages and support understandable.
Where is the platform at home?
For a global service, the choice is open. Open the service’s own page, compare the countries listed there and pick one with several carriers, so you have alternatives in the order form.
Local carriers and physical SIM cards
Each number is issued by a mobile carrier in its country and runs on a physical SIM card in that carrier’s network. That is the core difference to VoIP numbers, which come from internet telephony instead of a mobile network. The country code tells the platform where the number is registered, and the SMS reaches it like any message to a local customer. If a number is virtual, it is labelled as such in the provider selection. The carriers for each country are listed on its page and in the order form, where you can pick one.
Activation, Rent Service or Rent Number
On every country page you choose between three products. Activation for a single verification code gives you one code for one service within 20 minutes and is the cheapest way to receive a single code. Rent Service to keep a number for one platform binds the number to one service for the period you choose; for repeated verifications on the same platform it costs less per verification than new Activations. Rent Number, a whole number without service binding receives SMS from any sender, which suits business continuity. The current price is in the order form. For Germany there is also Mobile VoIP rental with calls and SMS online.
Try SMS reception with free numbers first
If you only want to see how receiving an SMS works, free numbers to receive SMS online are open in 18 countries and regions, without registration. They are public: anyone can read the messages. Use them for testing, never as a phone number for verification on an account you want to keep.
Frequently asked questions
How many countries can I get a virtual number from?
Numbers come from 54 countries and regions, all listed on this page. Open a country to see its services and carriers.
Does the country of the number matter for verification?
It can. Platforms built for one market expect a number from it, and the country code often sets the account’s region and language. For global services, order in one of the countries listed on the service page.
Can I take a number from a country I do not live in?
Yes. You choose the country freely; the number stays in its home network, and you read the SMS in your Anosim account from anywhere.
What separates Rent Number from Rent Service?
Rent Service binds the number to one service. Rent Number gives you the whole number for any sender, for the period you choose in the order form.
Where do I see the carriers for a country?
On the country page and in the order form, where you can also pick one.
How long can I keep a number from another country?
An Activation lasts 20 minutes for one code. With Rent Service or Rent Number, the number stays yours for the period you choose in the order form, and you read its SMS in your Anosim account throughout.
What are the free numbers for?
For trying out SMS reception. Since anyone can read the messages, they are not suited to accounts you want to keep.
